Since 1963
Adarsh Public Smart School opened on 5 April 1963 under Adarsh Bal Sudhar Sangh. Late Thakur Balbeer Singh Deepak, a Chandigarh educationist and journalist, founded it so children would learn English, manners and work — and leave ready for the next school.
English, spoken daily
Conversation, reading aloud and handwriting sit beside the timetable, not after it. Children leave with a voice they can use.
Teachers who stay
Classes are small enough for a teacher to know a child’s work, temper and pace. That is the whole method.
A campus they use
Smart rooms, a library, play and day boarding sit together in Sector 20-B. They are part of the week, not a list of extras.
Three stages
One campus, three paces. Children stay known as the work gets harder.

01
2 years+ · Play class to UKG
Play-led mornings, English in the air, and handwriting that starts as a game. The first years are for settling a child into school, not rushing them through it.

02
Classes I–V
Reading, writing and number sense with enough sport and art that a child still wants to come in the morning.

03
Classes VI–VIII
The years that ask more: subject depth, independent work, and a farewell that still feels like a small school.

On campus
Hybrid lessons, a library you can search, sport, day boarding and buses — run as a neighbourhood school.
Hybrid classes
Lessons that can run in the room and online at the same time, so a child who is away does not fall out of the week.
Kids’ corner
An activity room and maths lab where younger children try, mess up, and try again — before the copy books get serious.
Smart library
Search, read and request books from the catalogue. Quiet shelves, not a locked cupboard.
Indoor & outdoor sport
Ground time and indoor games are part of the week, not a once-a-year sports day.
Value-based work
Circle time, festivals and small duties that teach how to share a room with other people.
Recreation
Clubs and play chosen around what the children actually like, not a list copied from another school.
Day boarding
A longer, supervised day for families who need it — meals, rest and homework on campus.
Transport
School transport across Chandigarh and the Tricity, with routes confirmed at admission.

08The calendar

Summer on a plate — tasting, drawing, and a little science around a fruit the children already know.

Mehndi, swings and folk songs. Girls and boys both dress the day; the campus smells of henna.

Flag, march-past, and speeches written in class, not downloaded the night before.

Parents and children cook together. The prize is usually eaten before the certificates are given.
Parents
“Best school in the Tricity for what it actually offers: smart classes, a library, a play area and extra work that happens every week, not once a term. My child likes going, which is the only review that matters.”
“My daughter started in kindergarten and is now in Class II. She is an all-rounder — studies, sport, every activity the school puts on. Thank you, APS.”
Admissions
Walk in during school hours, or send a note. Pre-primary is first-come. Other classes on merit. The principal confirms every seat.
